Today I will be talking about Ginnie Springs, located in High Springs, Florida! The story of the springs goes that a women named Ginnie washed the clothes of the loggers that used the river. It is privately owned by the Wray family and has been since 1971. It is a popular place for cave divers to explore Florida’s aquifer system! People can also simply swim around, like I did this morning, or tube along the Santa Fe river, which the 7 unique springs that makes up the park are connected to. Year round, the spring remains at a balmy 72°F. If you’ve never been, I would highly recommend it!! As well as any of Florida’s amazing springs and rivers!! Same rule of thumb for visiting them as beaches, leave them better than you found them.
